The answer is not necessarily. Addiction to food and eating usually starts in childhood or adolescence. Not all obesity is a result of addiction. Food addicts are unable to control the urge to eat. Food lovers who gain weight are not necessarily addicted. For them, a regular diet will be beneficial.
