Medications in cases of COPD are only meant to relieve the symptoms. They cannot cure the disease, as they are not designed to treat its causes, which is the immune system's weakness. Medications have side effects and lasting damage, but most of us fear disobeying the doctor's instructions and thus perpetuating the disease!
