Hydrogenated plant-based solidified vegetable oils (such as margarine) are trans fats, which are refined with heating or recycled greases. These are incredibly toxic and prohibited. They also cause increased obesity compared to natural oils, which have the same amount of calories. Unfortunately, many industrial products contain these harmful trans fats due to their low price.
