However, reasonable doses of the sugar naturally found in fruits and vegetables (it is advisable to reduce grapes and watermelon, which contain mainly glucose) provide essential nutrients for the body, including dietary fiber, electrolytes, minerals, vitamins, enzymes, and antioxidants. Therefore, cancer patients must consume fresh and cooked fruits and vegetables, including sweet ones (in reasonable doses).
