Constipation is often the result of an unhealthy diet affecting intestinal flora. Laxatives are a short-term solution and are not intended for prolonged use. Paraffin oil (a petroleum by-product) is not a natural substance that the intestines feel comfortable with. Castor oil, a natural laxative, is also prohibited in prolonged use. Although its effect is milder, coconut oil has antibacterial properties and can substitute for laxatives. The taste of the coconut oil is buttery, and its texture is soft and delicate. Taking the coconut oil on an empty stomach, preferably immediately after drinking lemon juice squeezed in lukewarm water, is advisable. It is worth emphasizing that a dietary change is required to return to regular bowel movements.
