In women who are obese, gallbladder infections are more common because industrialized foods are especially inflammatory. Fluctuations in female sex hormone levels are a significant factor, along with an unhealthy diet contributing to the formation of gallstones. The leading causes of hormonal fluctuations are births, birth control pills, and a woman's menopause.
