Prolonged pain and suffering and a decreased quality of life have a far-reaching effect on the psyche - the loss of joy and happiness. The patient may go into a deep and prolonged depression. It is a negative vicious cycle because depression consumes a lot of energy while joy and happiness charge the energy of life. The difficulty faced by almost every chronic or addicted patient is how to break the negative vicious cycle. The key is ACCEPTANCE combined with HOPE to achieve recovery. Patients with chronic liver diseases are expected to have a challenging and prolonged start and need mental and physical support and a lot of love.
