Diets are ineffective without addressing the causes of food and eating addiction. Appropriate support groups can significantly improve the chances of success in rehab. I recommend that you read the article in the attached link.
The support group has two leading roles: The first and foremost aim is to perform a meditation-like intrusion into subconsciousness and bring up traumatic, unresolved, painful memories. This process of self-psychoanalysis is complicated to achieve. The ability to open up and share traumatic personal experiences is critical. Without the patient's cooperation, the main goal cannot be achieved. The second goal is to encourage and show that you are not alone; others like you have tried and succeeded. Encouragement allows for a gradual opening and a zone of courage. The group participants and the facilitator have a very high meaning. The support group is often perceived as a psychological tool, but the experience of penetrating the subconscious mind makes it a potent tool. Support groups sometimes fail! In these cases, combining a support group with hypnosis is advisable. (With a certified hypnotist with good chemistry, the patient's cooperation is required.)
