Sharp weight loss is a very worrying phenomenon in cancer patients. Weight gain usually signifies the beginning of rehabilitation—weight loss, when near death, is a survival mechanism. In life-threatening conditions, the body loses weight to maintain the life force energy. Being of lower weight makes it easier to maintain higher qi life-force levels. I lost 24 kg within 24 weeks (92 kg to 68 kg) during my chemotherapy for hepatitis (HCV) and without changing my diet or physical activity. (I was always exhausted.)
