I went to see a specialist who giggled at me when I asked about detoxification. Is it redundant?

Nutrition-based detoxification and cleansing of the liver, gallbladder, intestines, and kidneys have a far-reaching effect on strengthening the immune system. You can find dozens and hundreds of detox herbs, capsules, and supplements on the shelves of health food stores. Detoxification workshops have opened in many places, yet the subject remains part of alternative medicine. Quite paradoxically, modern medicine that uses similar tools, such as a dialysis machine and an artificial liver machine, treats the subject with great disapproval and skepticism.

When the body has low levels of toxicity, the body's energy will improve significantly. Therefore, the immune system can fight all pathogens much more effectively. Lowering the immune burden enables recovery from most chronic diseases, though usually not as a single therapy. The definition of antioxidants is relatively new and refers to a group of substances found in plants that can inhibit or prevent damage to human cells and tissues.
