It is worth distinguishing between intelligent guessing and intuition, which are not based on previous experience and logic. Intuition is a subconscious mechanism that bypasses logical thinking to save life energy. (Thinking is a very energy-intensive process.) The strange part is that sometimes critical decisions are made intuitively. Intuition is a tool that we all have at different levels. Women have better intuition than men. One of the more common explanations is that women have a larger pineal gland. Evolution likely gave women a better survival ability than men, mainly due to their role in giving birth and raising children.
