All of us (except asexuals) have a built-in ability to sense the magnetic field of the potential mate. Usually, a photograph is not enough; it is necessary to have a close physical encounter. Favorite meeting places for gays and lesbians exist, but they are based on the ability to identify the sexual orientation of the preferred partner, even without words. Sexual orientation is manifested in childhood, long before sexual maturity. The subconscious is the factor that enables data processing. The whole process bypasses logic. Therefore, we also have no control over it.
