Patients with life-threatening diseases or those who acutely harm their quality of life are willing to try any available treatment. In retrospect, patients often discover that many treatments did not benefit them, occasionally even hurting them. There is a massive industry of online advertising for private clinics that are not supervised, ensuring much but delivering very little. Throughout 17 years, I spent quite a few in questionable clinics that sold materials and treatments that did not promote my health.
