Unlike in the past, there are now quite full models, but probably still, the vast majority in the modeling industry are shapely. The ideal of beauty of the golden ratio does not hold for most people. The idea of beauty has changed over the years, and skinny models like Twiggy no longer appear on the front pages of reputable fashion magazines. The reasons for preferring non-fat people are probably varied. Overweight people look older than their age; fat people look clumsy, and their clothes often don't look their best. They radiate an image of a less vital and healthy look. (although this is not necessarily true)
