The treatment with Bach flowers is mainly aimed at relaxation; it can benefit IBD patients but should not be an exclusive therapy. In diseases with an obstructive nature, a combination is needed that includes the body (restoration of the immune system), mind, and spirit, which is also the case with chronic colitis.
The Bach flower method was developed in England by an English homeopathic doctor in the 1930s. I tried without success. The mechanism of action of Bach flowers is unclear. In my opinion, it is based (similar to homeopathy) on the placebo effect. At the same time, the treatment does not involve suffering, pain, or side effects.
