Discussion: Fear effect - Why Patients with chronic diseases that are considered incurable (Such as IBD) are often afraid of self-healing functional medicine treatments?

The fear effect exists in most patients with severe illnesses or those who are perceived as incurable. (This included me at the time.) The explanation is related to our perception that modern medicine is omnipotent. The doctor knows everything, often delegitimizes, and even warns not to try different treatment methods.
