Extraterrestrials, being made of organic compounds, must eat food. The food they consume is the result of the evolution from which they evolved.

Extraterrestrials (except a race with no physical body) are built of organic compounds. Extraterrestrials have different morphology, anatomy, and physiology than humans; still, they need energy and, therefore, must eat. Food breakdown and energy production require oxygen (anaerobic respiration is less efficient), so extraterrestrials also breathe. The anatomy and physiology of extraterrestrials are entirely different, but they must also emit waste from their bodies.

Most extraterrestrials are omnivores, yet they are not carnivores.

The depictions of extraterrestrials with massive jaws and shark teeth are taken from science fiction films and are unrealistic.

  • The foods eaten by extraterrestrials are not uniform for every civilization. They are mainly the result of different evolution. Extraterrestrials that evolved from insects (such as the Mantis) will eat various foods characteristic of insects. Extraterrestrials that evolved from reptiles will eat reptile-like foods, and so on. Some extraterrestrial species evolved from human-like mammals, so their diet is reminiscent of that of humans.

It is essential to emphasize that extraterrestrials are familiar with the foods and drinks on Earth, which they visit regularly. Most extraterrestrial civilizations are omnivores, but fear not; Humans are not on their menu.
